How long have you been in business?
Our original store began in Ypsilanti in 2009. In June of 2014 we opened a store in the Nickels Arcade in downtown Ann Arbor, Mi. In October of the same year, we expanded into an additional space in the arcade that allowed us to offer more accessories and jewelry.
What is your primary product or service?
Alembika, one of our most popular lines, said it best in their statement, "...we would like you to feel comfortable with your body. Not the body you're working on, fantasizing about, or wish you have. The one you have right now". At mix we don't think you should have to give up comfort for exceptional style and design.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
One of the owners, Bonnie Penet, worked for many years selecting and selling art-wear independently before opening the original brick-and-mortar store in Ypsilanti in 2009. Her love of clothes grew out of the art dolls she created and sold through art fairs and craft shows for many years.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
A thoughtfully curated collection and an exceptional level of customer service.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our original location at 130 W. Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti, Mi continues to go strong. Suites 2, 4 & 5 in Nickels Arcade in Ann Arbor, MI is our newest addition.

Our Ypsilanti location is in the heart of downtown Ypsilanti on Michigan Avenue, between Huron and Washington. In Ann Arbor, we can be found in Nickels Arcade at 320 South State Street. Our entrance is directly across from the Maynard Parking Structure.
What type of payments do you accept?
All major credit cards & cash.
Which areas do you service?
Southeastern lower Michigan is our home, however being near the campuses of the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan really puts us in touch with a national and international audience. We enjoy the fabulous mix of customers the stores attract.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Bonnie Penet and Leslie Leland, owners
What are your hours of operation?
Monday - Saturday 11am - 6pm Sundays 12 - 5pm (both locations)
