What is your primary product or service?
Overnight accommodations plus a full breakfast.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The Parish House Inn advertised for a manager and I answered the ad...and bought it 3 years later. I was attending Washtenaw Community College and graduated with a Culinary/Hospitality Management degree in May of 1994. I had many years working in the radio and TV advertising business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We help people discover the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area and get a good nights rest in a tranquil setting. Chef and innkeeper, Chris Mason prepares a farm-to-table breakfast every morning to start your day, and is the author of "7 Recipes Plus tips to Get You Out of Bed for Breakfast Every Morning". We are located one half mile north of exit 183 on I-94, Huron Street, Ypsilanti, on the right hand side of the street. Parking is in the rear. You can find us on your GPS system at 103 South Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Mi, 48197
What type of payments do you accept?
All credits cards and cash.
Which areas do you service?
Eastern Michigan University visiting professors, job candidates, guests and families of students. Business travelers who like our convenient location, breakfast and nearby restaurants and shops. Locals who have family visiting for vacation, weddings and events. People on vacation looking for a central location to travel to various nearby destinations.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mrs. Chris Mason, chef/innkeeper is assisted by her daughter Martha Cleary and her sister Shirley Saudargas
What are your hours of operation?
Generally we operate from 7 AM to 7 PM. Guests usually arrive between 4 PM and 7 PM. When guests check in they are givien a key to allow them to come and go as they please. Breakfast is served 7AM-9AM weekdays, 8AM-10AM weekends and holidays. Arrangements can be made for earlier breakfast times. Special diets are no problem with advance notice.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
I like to hear that they had a good nights sleep and a delicious breakfast with great conversation, and had a great time in the area.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
You just get more like yourself as you get older....I find that to be true of everyone.
